Lewis B. Elfrink of Lutesville died Thursday, September 28, 1989 at Advance Nursing Center. He was 81. He was born at Leopold on June 6, 1908, son of the late Herman and Mary Hulshof Elfrink. On June 6, 1934 he married Clara VanGennip. She died August 9, 1941. He was then married on April 26, 1947 to Hannah Jansen. She died May 24, 1952.

He is survived by four daughters, Norma Bohnsack of Lutesville, Mary Trent of Madres, Calif., Cynthia French of Painton, Mo. and Suzanne Sindle of Oran; four brothers, Edward Elfrink of Jackson, Theodore Elfrink of St. Louis, Sylvester Elfrink of Advance and Isidore Elfrink of the Cahokia, Ill.; two sisters, Sophia Elfrink of Leopold, Dorothy Vandeven of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One infant daughter, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a retired operator of the Elfrink & Sons General Store at Glennon. He was the former postmaster at Glennon and also worked at Elfrink Truck Lines. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Glennon and a charter member of Bollinger County Historical Society.

Liley Funeral Home in Lutesville handled arrangements. Funeral mass and burial was held Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
