Clarence J. Peters, 72, of Advance died July 18, 1999 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Peters was born at Oran, Mo. December 26, 1926, a son of the late August and Mary C. Terbrock Peters. He was married November 30, 1946 to Margaret C. VanDeven and she survives.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and Pacific Theatre Medal. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Glennon.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Raymond Peters of McClure, Ill.; a sister, Jo Ann Stanley of Arlington, Tex.

Preceding him in death was two brothers and one sister.

Funeral mass and burial will be July 21 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Glennon.
