Benjamin Franklin Horman, 72, of Silva, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 2, 1934, at Chaffee, son of Frederick Dewey and Mayme Christine Griffin Horman. He and Bernice Eftink were married Feb. 1, 1964.

Horman retired as a sales clerk with Dame Lumber Co. in Chaffee, and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church at Glennon, Mo.

He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Horman of Cape Girardeau, Benjie Horman of Jackson; three daughters, Ellen Horman of Glennon, Mo., Linda Walton of North Pole, Alaska, Kathy Eftink of Sikeston, Mo.; three brothers, Alfred Horman of St. Louis, Robert Horman of Chaffee, James Horman of Jonesboro, Ark.; four sisters, Alice Kiefer of Chaffee, Aileen Fielner of Lamar, Mo., Dorothy Horman of Jackson, Ina Eftink of Leopold, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery at Glennon, with full military honors.
