George A. Beel, Sr., 70 years old of Glennon, a retired farmer, died Monday. He was born June 18, 1893 near Glennon and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Beel. Mr. Beel was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma Laurentius Beel; five daughters, Mrs. Charles Peters of St. Louis, Mrs. Zeno Chafer of Jackson, Mrs. Elmer Fluegge of Alamongordo, N.M., Mrs. Frank Macke of St. Louis, Mrs. Herman Winebarger of Mine La Motte; four sons, John of Sequentin, Washington, George of Leopold, Charles of St. Louis and Edward of Illmo; a sister, Mrs. Ben Wessel of St. Louis; 29 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at St. Anthony's Church at Glennon with burial in the church cemetery.

Ward Funeral Home of Lutesville was in charge.
