Dorothy F. Trankler, 85, of St. Louis, formerly of Glennon, died Monday, June 5, 2006, in St. Louis.

She was born August 8, 1920, at Glennon, daughter of Henry and Sophia Lawrentious Vandermierden. She and Clarence Trankler were married October 12, 1938, at Glennon. He died August 9, 1990.

Trankler was a retired salesclerk from Stix, Baer and Fuller in St. Louis, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Milford Trankler of Branson, Mo., Joseph Trankler of St. Louis; four daughters, Norma Holsem of Florida, Alma Holzer of Imperial, Mo., Patricia Wells of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary Ellen Bucher of St. Louis; a brother, Martin Vandermierden of Marble Hill; a sister, Agnes Trankler of Oran, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son and four sisters.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Glennon, with the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
