Lester Walter Crader, 55, of Marble Hill died December 3, 2004, at his home following a lengthy illness with cancer.

He was born September 15, 1949, in Lutesville, Mo., son of Lester Walter and Marcia Goskie Crader.

He grew up in Bollinger County and attended Woodland R-4. He worked at the Lutesville Pallet Mill and Loveall Power Line Co. as an electrician, logger and self-employed carpenter.

He and Mary Lou VanderMierden were married on September 15, 1996, in Glennon, Mo.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bill (Holly) of Cape Girardeau and Richie (Karen) and Danny, both of Marble Hill; a stepdaughter, Carrie (Doug) of Jackson, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Allie, Sarah, Katie, Bobby, Christian and Jake.

Lester has two sisters, Betty Shaw (H.R.) of Marble Hill and Patsy Wisniewski (David) of Senoia, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Crader; and an aunt and uncle, Mary and Landreth Crafton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother James Crader and an aunt, Mae Foster.

Visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Dr. John Englehart officiating.

Burial will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Leo and Henry VanderMierden, David Ford, David Hughes, Donald Statler and David Shipley.
